WNYC News | Aug 6

The New York City Council will consider a suite of legislation to regulate electric bikes and scooters after a deadly crash near City Hall last week. A 17 year-old riding an e-bike was killed last Wednesday when he collided with a Chevy Tahoe SUV coming off the Brooklyn Bridge.

The City Council will hold a hearing on e-bike safety on September 30th. Council Speaker Julie Menin and Majority Leader and Transportation Committee Chair Shaun Abreu joined WNYC's Sean Carlson to talk more about it.
