Clarice Jensen at the Guggenheim Museum

Cellist Clarice Jensen has been a ubiquitous figure on the New York new music scene, as a member of ACME, the American Contemporary Music Ensemble, as a frequent collaborator with classical and rock musicians, and as a composer. Her own works often involve the looping of her cello to create almost orchestral textures, with ambient electronics and occasional keyboards. It’s a cinematic sound that has found its way into films, and occasionally, into museums like the Guggenheim, where Jensen is playing on June 18, as part of the Guggenheim Late Shift, which is actually an early evening series at the Guggenheim Museum.
