In Good Health: Vulvovaginal and pelvic floor disorders

One in three women will experience a pelvic floor disorder at some point in their life.

And one in four people with vulvas will develop a vulvovaginal disorder. But despite how common pain “down there” is, 60 percent of people with these conditions consult three or more doctors before ever receiving a proper diagnosis. That process can take up to 12 years, according to The National Vulvodynia Foundation.
